Oakland 1940's
Zombie Village, Oakland Ca. circa 1940's This would have been a great place to go... A totally different world, and certainly a different Oakland.
What a difference 70 years makes. I used to work on 53rd and San Pablo and it was gnarly. Drive-by's, hookers, and drug deals in the late 1980's and early 1990's. You defiantly had to keep your eyes open, it was a sketchy neighborhood for sure. I think that the area has become better since, with Pixar right around the corner, and some company's moving into this part of Oakland, the area has undergone a small rebirth.
