 A great evening at Syndicate Barber Shop in Long Beach, for the Throttle Merchants Vol. 5 release party. Hot Rods, Art show, Great music and lots of friends. The new book is so good, and everything that we have come to expect from Throttle Merchants. I was honored to be asked to create the poster art to accompany the release. My buddy Heeko had his first showing, and he killed it! I am so proud of him. Great times! Born-Free Show 2014 by Meditation 4 Madmen

Aged hand lettering today...

I hand lettered this 1949 Ford F-6 today, and gave it 50 years worth of wear. There is only one way to produce realistic aged lettering, and that is to hand letter it. Almost every time that I see "faked" old lettering, it's sprayed through a stencil and buffed off in random spots. This is not how lettering ages. Old hand lettering fades in the strokes, and is very directional. This can't be duplicated in a sprayed field. I have studied and geeked out on old faded lettering for years. It's a real joy to produce lettering that is very believable.

Four Lanterns winery...

I just finished and hung today the main tasting room signage at the Four Lanterns Winery in Templeton/Paso Robles. Raw steel with Stainless on aged rustic wood. A great combination!

Panhead tanks urn...

Just finished up these early 3.5 gal Panhead tanks for a friend of ours. They were her fathers tanks when he was a young man. Now that he has passed away, they will serve as an ern at each of his childrens houses.

Taking back Paso kick off party July 4th 10am at 100 South Main St. Templeton Ca. get there early, old time parade starts at 10 and turns the corner at the house, so you must be parked before. Plenty of parking, BBQ fire will be lit, so bring something to throw on. Lucky B Design open house, America!
