Wasted Teardrop...
This little home built teardrop was offered to me this last week for free, if I hauled it off. I was very excited as I drove out to see it. Upon inspection I realized that it is wasted. So my buddy is going to take it, and build it into a chicken coop...

Backwards...
Oh to be able to go back in time, everything in this picture is great. All that you would ever need, even if the picture is backwards...

The Cobblers kid's have no shoe's... The other day I called on a client who wanted to have some striping done on his truck. I happened to be in my wife's truck, with the turned gold leaf job that I applied almost 6 years ago. To say the least, not a good example, as gold leaf and car washes don't work well together ( I have mentioned this many times too her). Anyhow, yesterday I had some free time, and re-striped the truck. Variegated gold with a outline stripe, and then a lower single stripe (almost a drop shadow) close to the truck color. At least now, if again I make a call for striping, I will have good representation...

Last Night...
I caught the Fabulous Thunderbirds last night at the fair. The line-up has totally changed from the picture above, with only Kim Wilson as an original member. I know, that the critics will say that this is not "true blues" and for the most part they are correct. But there were some "stone blues" numbers played, with some great solos by the youngsters on the guitars (it is so unfair to have to live up to Jimmy Vaughn). Overall a good show, and for Paso Robles California, a great show. Fun night...

This Morning...
Sunday morning early, by far the best time of the week to hang signs in any downtown. This morning I did just that. The pawn shop in Atascadero, is expanding into this cool old building down the street. Really straight forward, just cover up the old signs, with the new. I wanted the old lettered neon sign can faces real bad, but after breaking several drill bits, and jigsaw blades, I gave up. Oh well, perhaps down the road sometime...

Found...
I'm lettering three signs for a local business. Basically covering the old store signs with the new. The front sign has two previous layers of overlay, but the original sign can underneath, was a mystery until this morning when I removed the layers. I totally expected to find just a painted over sign can. But to my surprise, the old signage with hand lettering intact was preserved. It was like unwrapping a gift. Now I have to figure out how to remove my new finds, before hanging the new signs...

The Boy's new score...
Boy sent these pics of the 70' Sporty East Bay bike that he scored yesterday. Ness front end and rear fender, Ronnie Nunes paint. Sweet little strong running scooter. The Honda was also there, but the owner would not let it go. Some neat east bay history, with half going to a new owner. Good score...

It's that time again...
Every year at this time, a steady line of patched together, overly packed trucks, with ill-fitting campers role into town. And with that comes a slight growth of the local population. A very interesting group, one that is not concerned with fitting in, or looking cool. Building the amusement rides with little more than a hammer and pipe wrench, stopping to turn and whistle or hoot at any female over 12. These are interesting times indeed... With all of that said, there is still something magical, in the early mornings at the fairgrounds.

Rare Bird Spotted...
Just ran across this beautiful, original 1951 Buick Woodie Wagon downtown. This car is totally untouched (other that the older prime job). The owner was talking to another gentleman on the sidewalk, and didn't seem to have too much to say to me, but the car is For Sale, make offer... I'm guessing by the way the owner wore his Hawaiian shirt tucked into his Cargo shorts, that he wants a lot of money for this car. But hey, what do I know...
