271 Undocumented Picasso Works Turn Up in France

  1. That man is going to get didley squat, Picasso's estate is going to sue his pants off. It reminds me off that old Simpson's episode when the Hell Fish lose their treasure to the Euro trash grandson.

  2. It will be interesting to see. The French government already arrested the man, only to let him go without any charges. I guess the burdon on the Picasso foundation, is to prove that these works were not a gift. And with Pablo being dead for 37 years, that may be hard to do. Remember, until this man came forward with the artwork, the artwork was totally unknown. I'm thinking he may get a payout, and the whole thing will be swept under the rug. The truly important thing is that the artwork has surfaced, and will add to the legacy of the artists lifetime portfolio.

  3. What was suprising to see is that the artwork that surfaced was earlier cubist work that Picasso had been working with Braque. These estates run by the heirs are getting crazy as Diane Arbus' estate will sue or get forced removal of even digital copies of her photos. This brings up the question of intelectual rights to art and personal property.
